Improved ag research and nursery facility on the Sacramento River
Flat, leveled ground with a reliable water source is the backbone of valley farming. We have sold it in Sutter, Yolo and Solano Counties, with and without leases in place.
Our record here includes a 57-acre rice property near Winters, a 107-acre rotation farm near Robbins with rice, sunflowers, beans and tomatoes, hay ground near Dixon under a lease that ran to 2030, and a 339-acre property on the Sacramento River near Meridian. We also sold the commercial rice drying facility on Highway 45 near Knights Landing, with about 1.15 million cwt of capacity and 835 acres of rice ground in Reclamation District 108.
Row-crop buyers should ask about leases first. Several of these properties sold subject to an annual or multi-year lease, and the terms matter to both income and to when a buyer can farm the ground. After that, water: district supply, wells, river rights or a mix, and the soils, which on the Solano County hay ground were Class 2 clays.
